  14.                 Student Edition of C/C++ Compiler

  16. Salford Software Ltd. has announced a low cost Student Edition of its 
  17. C/C++ (SCC) compiler for the PC.
  18.  
  19. SCC is a fully featured ANSI C compiler.  It will also compile C++
  20. code compliant to the ARM (including templates and exception handling)
  21.  
  22. specification of C++.  SCC is a 32-bit protected mode compiler and is 
  23. available under DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT.

  25. SCC is shipped with a user guide (approximately 250 pages), a library
  26. of over 250 system and graphics routines, a full set of development
  27. tools (debugger, linker, IDE, make, librarian etc.) as well as
  28. Salford's unique ClearWin+ Windows development library and tools.
  29. ClearWin+ offers a new approach to Windows programming.  Using a set
  30. of format codes, the programmer describes the layout of the interface
  31. to the ClearWin+ library.  ClearWin+ then takes care of the necessary
  32. processing of messages, window repainting etc.  Using this library a
  33. Windows interface can be added to an existing application within a
  34. matter of hours instead of days using conventional programming
  35. techniques.

  37. The Student Edition of SCC is available to undergraduates registered
  38. at recognised academic institutions.  This edition of the compiler is
  39. available for UKP 29 plus local taxes and shipping charges.
